about the painting:
This week was about
experimenting...I began
with a watercolor..then I
was playing with crayon
resist...The crayon didn't
resist enough, so I got out
an old warming
tray...and laid the paper
on it and continued with
the crayon....WHAT
FUN...watercolor...then
wax...more watercolor....I
think I was influenced by
my fall garden...boot imprints...flagstones...berries... pods...this painting has lots of depth
and texture and the wonderful aroma of "Crayola Crayon" Takes me right back to
childhood! It doesn't work all that well as a painting on its own (composition is lacking) but
I might use this technique in another larger work....It is definitely flying without a net
though...Even gesso doesn't stick to wax.
