| week 37 |
| I was inspired this week by the photos in the Weekend Drawing Event this past Saturday evening (at www.wetcanvas.com hosted by lisilk...thanks)....I didn't have time then to paint, so I decided to have a go this morning. (YES! Procrastination at work once again) I first washed the paper with a very warm saturated watercolor base...(Perm. Aliz. Crim., Azo Yell., Quic. Gold,, Quic. Red....all M. Graham...except. the quic. Gold.) and let that dry....Then I mixed titanium White Casein with Mangan. Blue Hue watercolor and negative painted around the tree shapes with this very opaque sky color. I let that dry and then went back into the tree shapes with more negative painting with darker value watercolor. Then went back into the sky with some watercolor to give it some variation too.....Once again, I love the opaque paint next to the transparent washes.. I really want to do this type of painting BIGGER than my year of painting format of 8 x 8... I'm finding the summer the hardest to stay motivated in this year long adventure....Gardening and Golf keep getting in the way... :)...Thanks for looking... (I'm going to get started this afternoon on next weeks painting........not) :D |
