This is a painting of
Ngorongoro Crater in
Tanzania, Africa....My
husband and I were lucky
enough to take a trip
there in the spring of
2000...I did sketches and
took many photos...but I
have yet to do a
painting...I want to do a
huge acrylic of the crater
(maybe 4 ft. x 7 or 8 ft)...To
get an idea of the scale of
the place...the line of
brownish dots in
the lower light green band are a heard of Wildebeests...The top edge of the Crater is
touched with the clouds..(hit and miss)...I think this painting will help me JUST DO IT (the
large painting)...It is a very "foreign" landscape...I had never seen anything like it
before...One of those soooo beautiful and unusual places it makes your eyes tear, and you
forget to breathe.
